Bigfoot Electro is held on Baggenstoss Farms, a 500-acre flat land with stunning views and all the modern-day amenities you can imagine.
But it wasn’t always this way…
Originally hoping to build a small-scale zip line for his daughters, owner Andy Baggenstoss contacted Sterling Webb, a zip line developer. It wasn’t long before the small gift for his daughters turned into what will be “real deal” according to Webb.
“We have eight zip lines here at the farm, the longest line is 800 feet, and we have double zip lines at the end so riders can race to the finish. This is bigger and better than all the others. It’s the real deal.”
The eight zip lines take an hour and 45 minutes from the start time to the finish time. The farm offers other attractions as well. There are also fishing lakes, treehouses and 30+ easy camper hookups are already in place.
Last but not least, a wedding venue, The Pointe, is open and Operations Manager Danny Givens says 2018 is when the first couple exchanged vows at the venue.
“Our venue here is out on top of the mountain, out on a point, i.e., and it overlooks Payne’s Cove,” explained Baggenstoss. “We have farm house for the bridesmaids and obviously for the bride and for her family to get ready. And on the top of the hill across field we have a cabin for all the boys. We’ve got quail and pheasant hunting just outside of the property as well as three ponds to fish in, nine-hole frisbee golf. So I think the boys are gonna be satisfied while the girls are getting made up and looking forward to the rest of their lives with their perfect person.”
Baggenstoss wants Big Foot Zip Lines and the farm to offer an unmatched outdoor experience to area residents and visitors.
“Tourism attracts folks from off the mountain to enjoy our unmatched beauty,” explained Baggenstoss, who is partnering with Tower Bank in bringing tourism to the mountain.
That tourism will potentially bring in dollars to local businesses across the Plateau. The farm has already opened up jobs for local residents, bringing much-needed employment to the county. You can find Big Foot Adventures at Baggenstoss Farms on the web at www.bigfootadventuretn.com.
Bigfoot Electro will be just one more exciting way to celebrate the outdoors in Grundy County and the South Cumberland Plateau. From the world famous Fiery Gizzard Trail, to the uniqueness of the Stone Door, and the sheer brilliance of the Savage Gulf State Natural Area, you are only limited by your time and your energy.
